Porsche 991 GT America
The 2014 Porsche 911 GT America was a factory-built race car created by Porsche Motorsport North America exclusively for the GT Daytona (GTD) class of the United Sports Car Racing (USCR) series. It was based on the 911 GT3 Cup but adapted to meet the new USCR regulations, featuring a larger 4.0-liter flat-six engine and other specific modifications for the North American racing series.
Origin and Purpose
The Porsche 911 GT America was developed in response to the 2014 merger of the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex GRAND-AM Road Racing Series to form the United Sports Car Racing (USCR) series.
Porsche Motorsport North America designed the GT America to conform to the new rules for the GT Daytona (GTD) class, which included different technical regulations compared to existing series.
Porsche made a total of just 20 cars, with even fewer in existence today so it is very collectable and eligible for many vintage & historic races.
