Pescarolo 02 Chassis #1/11
This 2009 Pescarolo 02 is the first of 11 prototype racing chassis built by Sora Composites and Pescarolo Sport between 2009 and 2014 for use in the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s Le Mans-based driving school. Chassis 01 is said to have been utilized as a demonstrator and developmental vehicle during its early career before later being purchased by Fast Toys Club in 2021. The car has since achieved top-three finishes in NASA competition at Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, and Willow Springs. Featuring a carbon-composite monocoque, the car is powered by a 6.2-liter General Motors LS3 V8 paired with a paddle-shifted SADEV six-speed sequential gearbox. Finished in white with green and black accents, the car also features slotted disc brakes, pushrod coilover suspension, staggered-width 18” BRAID wheels, and a two-place cockpit hosting a single seat and a Cosworth digital display. Pescarolo Sport was founded in Sarthe, France, by 33-time Le Mans driver Henri Pescarolo in 2000 and initially fielded increasingly modified Courage chassis before launching its own LMP platform, the Pescarolo 01, in 2007. After being purchased by Sora Composites, the company introduced the Pescarolo 02 in 2009 to provide the ACO with a fleet for its racing school at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans, France. Featuring a two-seat configuration that allowed seating for a student and instructor, 10 open-cockpit chassis were constructed along with a single fixed-roof example. The carbon-fiber body is finished in white with green and black stripes along the nose panel. Features include front flicks, vented fenders hosting side mirrors, a rear shark fin, an adjustable rear wing, and a rear diffuser. Center-lock BRAID wheels are finished in black and wear Toyo Proxes tires measuring 245/540R18 and 285/650R18. Stopping is handled by slotted disc brakes with dual master cylinders and front cooling ducts, and a brake fluid flush was performed in June 2024. Inside the cockpit, a single molded seat upholstered in black is situated in the right-hand position. Equipment includes Pescarolo-branded headrest pads, a Sparco six-point harness, and a MOMO quick-release steering yoke with paddle shifters. A Cosworth configurable digital display with shift lights has been fitted along with a Cosworth switch panel, a Racelogic data logger, and a Racelogic onboard camera. The digital odometer shows 6,400 kilometers (~4k miles), approximately 3k of which have been added under current ownership. Total chassis mileage is unknown. The mid-mounted 6.2-liter General Motors LS3 V8 features an aluminum block, aluminum cylinder heads, Cosworth engine management, and dual oil coolers. An oil change was performed in June 2024. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a SADEV six-speed sequential transaxle. The clutch fluid was changed in June 2024. Suspension incorporates pushrod-actuated PKM adjustable coilovers at front and rear. A collection of spare parts that accompanies the car includes wheels, body parts, and various other parts that are listed in a document shown in the photo gallery below with a value estimated at $70k. The car does not have a title as it is a race car not intended for road use. It is being sold on a bill of sale. NO TRADE IN.
