1999 Porsche 996.1 GT3 Cup – WP0ZZZ99ZXS698089 / eng. 63W20530 – 28,829 kilometers / ~17,900 miles (increasing with use).
Street licensed in Washington State. Runs and drives well. Recent light-service – battery / oil & filter / plugs & coil packs.
This is believed to be the 89th GT3 made. The first batch of GT3 were mfg. in late 1998 for Porsche Supercup. This car is from the subsequent batch of GT3 Cup cars, mfg. February, 1999.
The 996.1 Cup car features a 3.6 liter Mezger motor; 6-speed manual gearbox with strengthened internals and oil pump and LSD; upgraded clutch and lightweight flywheel; center-lock wheels; and upgraded suspension. Bodywork includes carbon fenders; carbon doors; roll-cage; Recaro seats; air-jack; center windshield wiper; plexiglass side and rear windows. Bodywork updated to 996.2 headlights and GT2 style front bumper and rear bumper. Carbon engine lid designed for a large wing. Original bodywork is not included but simple matter to change back to 996.1.
History – No log-books or maintenance records but Japanese ownership records show it was first road registratered is 2005 to Tanaka Tetsusaburo – a SuperGT racer who also mfg. TSK Racing high-end racing simulators.
In 2008 it was registered to second owner – Kano Takahiro who may have built it in this style – showed up at Wekfest 2014 looking very similar to today (paint / stripes / airbrish). Deregistered in 2017. Imported to USA in August, 2024. Road-registered in WA state in September, 2024.
