1996 BMW M3 track car

For sale is my turn-key E36 M3 track car. It’s currently optimized for NASA TT5, where it consistently wins contingency tires (4th place or higher). The car has been exceptionally reliable throughout my ownership and has never stranded me on track. It has been setup and serviced mainly by Edge Motorworks in Fremont, CA. I have comprehensive maintenance records documenting the build along with a recent compression test showing healthy, consistent numbers across all cylinders. I’m only selling because I picked up an E46 M3.

The key parts on the car are:

– TC Design half cage

– MCS 1-way suspension

– TC design molded E46 fenders front and rear

– Ground Control suspension components throughout,

– Wanganstyle 3.91 diff with WPC gears and track LSD

– Nine Lives Racing wing

– Edge Motorworks 4in Alumalite splitter with Air dam

Car weighs ~2730lbs without driver and half tank of fuel. This car is ready to podium in TT5, or finish the cage and go W2W racing (e.g. ST5). It would also be a great Lucky Dog, WTCC, or Gridlife car.

With a faster driver and fresh tires it should be able to:

Thunderhill east: Sub2 (PB 2:01)

Sonoma: Sub 1:50 (PB 1:50)

Laguna: 1:40 (PB 1:43)

BW CW13: 1:58 (PB 1:59)

Car is currently PNO, but it has the stock cats and in theory could be smogged and registered again. I’m willing to get a PPI done at Edge. Full mod list: here
