2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS ZL1
Engine and Drivetrain
The heart of this car is a freshly built 417 cubic inch V8 from CF Performance, making over 730 horsepower and over 500 lb-ft of torque, with a redline near 8,000 rpm. More than $25,000 went into the engine and drivetrain alone. Invoices are available on request.
Induction and exhaust
• Rotafab intake
• BTR intake manifold (mid-length option)
• NW 103 throttle body
• Frankenstein Stage 1.5 LT heads
• TRP 1.75″ headers
Oiling
• Dailey Engineering dry sump system, so the engine stays supplied with oil through sustained high-g cornering, braking, and acceleration
Drivetrain
• 6-speed manual transmission
• McLeod twin-disc clutch, balanced before installation
Suspension and Chassis
The car sits on Multimatic DSSV suspension, the same spool-valve damper technology used in top-level motorsport. It gives the car a stable, controllable platform for putting the power down and carrying speed through corners.
• Multimatic DSSV dampers
• Hotchkiss front adjustable sway bar
• BMR rear adjustable sway bar and end links
• Full roll cage, which also stiffens the chassis
Wheels and Tires
• Apex wheels: 18×10.5 front, 18×11 rear
• Michelin [confirm exact model] track tires, the type used in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge
• Included: A second full set of matching wheels and tires.
Brakes
• DBA rotors, front and rear
• Hawk DT-70 pads (front)
• Hawk DT-60 pads (rear)
Aerodynamics and Exterior
• APR front splitter, balanced with a rear wing with end plates and Gurney flap
• Carbon fiber doors to reduce weight
• Fresh red and black wrap
• Race numbers and decals are applied over the wrap and can be removed easily, so you can run it clean or keep the look
• Front tow hook
• Exterior fire suppression activation button
Interior and Safety
The cabin is focused on two things: safety and performance.
• Driver seat: Sparco Ergo 2 full-containment seat
• Driver restraint: Sparco 6-point harness, HANS compatible
• Passenger seat: Recaro SPG bucket with RaceQuip 5-point harness
• Fire suppression: Lifeline system covering the driver’s compartment and engine bay
• Cooling: Cool Shirt system for the driver on hot days
• Cage: Full roll cage
• Gauges and controls: Factory steering wheel retained, so the OEM gauge cluster still communicates as designed
Why This Build
Most track cars force a compromise: a big motor on a mediocre chassis, or great suspension with modest power. This Camaro was built as a complete package. Power, dry-sump reliability, race-level suspension, slick-tire grip, aero, and safety equipment all work together.
What’s Included
