2008 Mustang GT build to SCCA CSM max spec.
Didn’t have a chance to wash it before taking pics, so apologies.
I got this car 3 months ago by winning the auction on BaT https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-ford-mustang-gt-coupe-24/
$19k ($20k with auction fees), as you can see, and since it’s an auction, it’s clear that there are other buyers who were ready to pay a similar amount.
It was originally built on a TV show, just search Powernation SCCA Mustang. They put less than 3000 miles on it.
I managed to put over $7000 in it during my 1000 mils of ownership (daily driver to get used to it + 5 hours drive to Sebring and back + a couple of track days).
All of those dollars are essential to ensure the car is top-notch. Ford Performance big brake kit with Brembo calipers. Brake fluid flush with the most reliable solution I could find (no need to change for the whole season). I lost brakes in my BMW before, so I always spend $$ to get the best for anything brake-related (anything car-related, really). Ford Performance full diff rebuilt with carbon clutch and vent repositioning. New lower arms for suspension. New tires to SCCA spec with 3 track days on it (one of them was Sebring, with the amount of traffic that I was ready to pull out my emails so I wouldn’t even count that). 2 other track days at Motor Enclave. Short, slow track where I go since it’s local. Oil changed, transmission oil changed. I bought an oil cooler kit for it, which I can include. It just arrived, and there was no chance to install it yet. The last time it was serviced was yesterday. It needs nothing. Ready to hit a track tonight.
Why selling? Well, yesterday was my first experience with SCCA, and after talking to their team, I got a bit disappointed. I was waiting for a calendar of local events to be released, but apparently that was it. I got this car to participate in time attacks against people with the same car, but there are literally none in a 250-mile radius. They stopped doing it on Sebring, only track nights now. There are more events towards the Midwest.
And I’m just not a Mustang guy (which was sarcastically pointed out by some of my friends). BMW M4 was my personal choice. Porsche. I even enjoy my little Miata. This car is fun, just not my type. The only thing I like about this Mustang above all other cars I drive is the sound. Nothing beats good V8.
