V3/R5 years
Began life as a 1986 911 G-Body. Modified to a race car by GAS Motorsports, Kevin Roush’s purpose-built V3/R5 car. Fuel cell, fire system, coms antenna, and cables. Brake Bias System
Roll Cage, Suspension – turbo trailing arms, Brakes updated created a winning combination with the – at the time 3.2 liter Bosch motronic 10:1 compression – a winning combination
Spec Carrera Years
Only modifications required to run spec carrera were 17” wheels and a spec tire. Modify motor position to stock location. Front suspension mods by Vision Motorsports yielded better use of the stock Bilstein dampers. Resulted in a championship. Neal at Decal spec came up with the John Player Special type design. Matte black paint allowed for “ease of maintenance”.
THE GT YEARS
Ran successfully on wider Hoosier tires and the same motor tune as SCR to a successful championship in GT4.
GT3
AASE converted the motor to a 3.4-liter, 11:1-compression setup with the aim of dominating GT3. The motor puts 277hp to the wheels on 101 octane fuel with the GT3 map installed. GAS upgraded the front suspension to coil-overs. Upgraded aero with Vision Motorsports splitter, a flat alumalite floor by Prato Motorworks, Diffuser – Prato Motorworks, Carbon body panels by Prato Motorworks, ultra lite battery, lighter tail lights, full data system added
GT5
To make an orange group competition car with lower tire operating costs, I kept the GT4 power setting using the GT4 chip and added ballast to the car and fuel to the fuel cell. We used a larger battery and used DOT 200 spec Yokohama tires on the car site.
