2019 Porsche GT2RS Clubsport
The GT2 RS Clubsport offered as a high-performance turnkey race car created to dominate track day and Clubsport events at racetracks around the globe, the GT2 RS Clubsport provided a highly potent and desirable platform, largely similar to the track-only 935. Complete with carbon fiber bodywork, a stripped out interior, integrated roll cage, BBS light-alloy forged center-lock wheels, integrated air jack system, plastic windows, and a 115-liter safety fuel cell. Porsche Motorsport would build 200 GT2 RS Clubsport examples for those wanting to hit the track as quickly as possible. Powered by 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, the Clubsport offered a perfect combination of impressive power paired with race-proven components, delivering 700 horsepower thanks to an optimized intercooler featuring a redesigned supply and return air feed, as well as its race-optimized water spray system. With nearly 340 pounds of weight savings over the GT2 RS street car, rear tires measuring 310 mm-wide are assisted by a massive rear wing to help manage the prodigious power of the GT2 RS Clubsport. While the Clubsport was not designed to compete in a specific racing series, the single-seater racing-car would serve as a popular choice for both track-days and international motor racing events. The chassis was specifically designed by development engineers in Weissach with separately adjustable compression and rebound stages on the three-way shock absorbers allowing for steering response and handling characteristics to be adapted to suit any track profile. Best described by Porsche, “This not only ensures total precision on every circuit, but also maximum control when driving at the limits at the track.”
